Papier.be launches new campaign about packaging

Papier.be is launching a new communication campaign, “Naturally Packaged,” which aims to inform and raise awareness among opinion leaders, policymakers, and experts about the sustainability of paper and cardboard packaging.

A recent study conducted across Europe and commissioned by Papier.be in collaboration with Two Sides shows that paper and cardboard are among the most popular packaging materials among Belgian consumers. Four out of ten Belgians (40%) consider these materials to be the best choice for the environment. Their preference is for paper, cardboard and glass, mainly because they are recyclable, environmentally friendly and easy to use.

Campaign results

These results confirm the message of the “Naturally Packaged” campaign, which aims to position paper and cardboard as sustainable, innovative and future-proof packaging materials. The campaign aims not only to dispel misconceptions, but also to show that paper and cardboard play an important role in the transition to a circular economy.

Paper and cardboard are largely, if not entirely, made from renewable raw materials and are almost entirely recyclable. They are therefore among the most sustainable packaging materials on the market.

According to Firmin François, president of Papier.be, the message is clear: “Consumers want packaging that is easy to recycle and better for the planet. They expect brands and stores to make more effort in this direction. Paper and cardboard packaging, with its renewable origin and circular nature, offers a unique advantage in this regard.”
