The federal government plans to introduce a 52-week cap on notice periods in the event of termination by the employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This measure would apply to employment contracts beginning on or after June 1, 2026. For workers with at least 17 years of service, the notice period could no longer exceed 52 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Employment contracts that began before June 1, 2026, would remain subject to the current rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please note: the reform initially planned for April 1 has been postponed to June 1, 2026, and the legislative process is still ongoing in Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
