From fibre to packaging: a visit to Van Genechten Packaging and Smurfit Westrock in Turnhout<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In collaboration with inDUfed<\/strong><\/a>, Fost Plus<\/strong><\/a> and Valipac<\/strong><\/a>, we organised an inspiring visit to Van Genechten Packaging<\/strong><\/a> and Smurfit Westrock<\/strong><\/a> in Turnhout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were given a unique insight into the manufacturing process for both cardboard<\/strong> and corrugated cardboard<\/strong> \u2014 two applications which, together, illustrate the versatility and innovative strength of our sector. Van Genechten Packaging showed us how the company produces high-end consumer packaging from cardboard and micro-corrugated board, whilst Smurfit Westrock focuses on robust industrial solutions made from corrugated board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What caught our attention? The powerful combination of efficiency, design and circularity. From raw material to finished product, we saw how companies are focusing on smart, recyclable packaging that perfectly meets the needs of today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The PPWR<\/strong> (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) was, of course, at the heart of the discussions.
