On 24 November, our federation had the pleasure of visiting Essity in Verviers to welcome Belgium’s Federal Minister for Energy, Matthieu Bihet. This visit was an excellent opportunity to exchange on critical topics shaping the energy transition and the competitiveness of our industries:
- Costs and timeframes for accessing the electricity grid
- Making smart choices about grid access
- Increasing low-carbon energy production capacity
- Energy costs
For the transition to succeed and to safeguard Belgium’s strategic autonomy and economic resilience, collaboration is key. Regions, the federal government, ELIA, and industry must work hand in hand to ensure a reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.
