On 20 May 2025, District Cleantech, in partnership with GreenWin, brought together around twenty players in the building value chain (architects, design offices, construction companies, reuse and recycling players, and more) at AGC Glass Europe to discuss a key issue: the recycling of flat glass.
With nearly 30,000 tonnes of flat glass generated each year in Wallonia, the potential is significant! But to transform this resource into reusable raw material, a solid, coordinated and operational supply chain is needed.
The offer already exists. Projects are underway. But now is the time to step up the pace. During the workshop, three main factors of change were identified:
🔹 The main obstacles to be overcome;
🔹 Concrete actions to be initiated;
🔹 Pilot projects.
This project cannot rely on a single organisation: the entire ecosystem must be mobilised, from selective sorting to industrial recovery.
